no more nablopomo for me!

today is the final day of nablopomo!  whoohoo, whoohoohoo!

of course i'm still going to be blogging, but i won't be banging my head against the wall every. single. day. trying to think of what to write about.  i've found a lot of other great bloggers through this challenge - yeah, you people are funny, inspiring, straight-up, and all around great bloggers.  thanks for giving me some great reading material!

(as a tear rolls down my cheek) - goodbye, nablopomo.  goodbye.  :)

fricken awesome.

so i guess this month marks the 25th anniversary of michael jackson's 'thriller'.  i love the video and also like to bust a move, so when i saw this, i just died!  these people fricken rule.  i wonder how long they practiced to get all the moves down.  i wish i could have crashed this wedding.

and if you liked that check this dirty dancing re-enactment out.  these people rock!

thoughts for thursday.

i love buying clothes for tucker.  however, i don't like buying things that are too much because i know it won't be long before he grows out of them.  i have done well at rummage sales (even before he was born) and found some super cheap brand name items.  quite a few of his clothes are brand name, but for the most part, i have not paid top dollar for what he has.  i think that if i lived closer to our mall, i might have issues.  when i go online, i pick out a whole cart full of items then end up just closing out without buying anything.  gosh, i'm weird.

so, here's my question to you mom's out there.  do you buy pricey name brands for your kids?  do you hate spending money when you know the time he will wear it will be limited?  does it depend on if you need it for an occassion?  if you find deals on brand name stuff - where do you shop?  do you look for the sale?  where is your favorite place to shop for your kids?  i love dressing tucker now - as i'm sure it won't be long before he refuses to let me dress him.  i don't know - is it just girls that go through that phase of wanting to wear what they want?  anyways, i'm looking for your thoughts and your secrets if you have a good way to get cute clothes at a great price.

for me, i love going to target and old navy.  he seems to fit into their jeans good and they always have cute tops at a decent price...and they have great clearance too.  i'm able to save some money and still make him look like a cute little dude.  i've went to babygap, gymboree, and the children's place before.  they always have cute stuff, but i hate paying full price!  i'm the one hanging around the sale racks.  hahaha!  of course, we did kind of splurge on his winter clothing, but it is nice and warm - and cute!

good ol' google.

so i see that someone did a google search for "slapped her butt" "i love new york" and they came up with two matches.  one of them was my blog.  wow.

fluffy white flakes.

i love when it snows!  i love the perfect blanket of white that lays over everything.  right now, it is snowing wonderful fluffy white flakes.  :)

tonight we had dinner at my dad's house.  my brother had to coach tonight so him and tina couldn't make it.  on a positive note, the bay beat two harbors on the ice!  you gotta love that!  ah, i miss the days of high school hockey.  good times, good times.  anyways, we had a nice dinner.  it was fun to just watch tucker be a goofball all night.  he loves the christmas tree.  we'll be putting ours up next week after we...get our new furniture!!!

that's right.  last night we picked out two new rocker/recliner's and a new couch.  the chairs are a light mushroom color and the couch is a sage color.  they are padded microfiber.  i'm SO excited.  we also got two little end tables as well.  the chairs and tables will be in next week, but our couch won't be in until the first week in january.  that's okay though, it just gives me the room i need to put our christmas tree where i want!  now, i think i'm going to get rid of my rugs and repaint the living room - possibly a cranberry color.  i might have to post pictures and get input from all you - i've seen pictures of some of your places and they look awesome.  so, this was pretty much my christmas present.  my grandma bought our couch and our chair will go back to my dad's.  um, did i tell you how EXCITED i was about this new furniture?  i can't wait to post some pictures!  :)

password notice!

i will be putting a password back on this blog sometime this weekend.  if you didn't sign up for the password here, then make sure you leave me a comment or email so i get you on the list.  thanks!

a few photographs.

thought today would be perfect to share a few photographs.

the first three are from thanksgiving at my grandma weezie's house.  there is my brother and his wife, tucker enjoying some of the world famous 'weezie's fudge', tucker and his grandma cheryl having fun and one of tucker on the couch (over a week ago).  he kept getting on and off the couch and when i looked over at one point, this is what i saw, my sleepyhead.  he's done this twice now!  too bad we are selling that comfy couch and going to get a new one and a recliner (or two) tonight.  well, i doubt we'll come home with them, but i hope we order them - i want them by christmas!  our comfy couch isn't going far though - only to my gram's house.  i'll still be able to visit it if i miss it that much.  anyways, here are the shots:

the farm.

these shots were taken at my great grandma and grandpa's farm.  we stopped there after my grandpa's burial.  it was a mystical place.  it was almost if you could close your eyes and go back to a time where there was so much life here.  it was a beautiful place in it's day.  now everything is boarded up and the brush has began to swallow much of what is left on the grounds.  i didn't do much to alter most of the pictures here - only because i don't know how without making them look horrible.  still working on that whole deal.  nonetheless, i wanted to share.

round and round.

today i feel like i am going round and round.  didn't i just wash, dry, and fold a load of laundry?  didn't i just vaccum?  didn't i just wash and put away a load of dishes?  didn't i just change tucker's dirty diaper?  didn't i just yell at my husband to get out of bed?  my goals for the day are slowly slipping away.  i wanted to do a ton of things which included putting the lights outside on the deck, going to the grocery store, getting some cleaning done, weeding out more of tucker's toys, and possibly getting our tree out of the attic and set it up (we have a fake one - less cleanup).  i haven't done any of those things yet.

last night we went out to the muni for a while.  it was nice to hang with the girls for a while.  i took my little camera but didn't take any pictures of us.  shoot!  oh well.  then we stopped at derek's for a while.  he showed us his individually wrapped pickles.  hahaha!  really though, jenn was grossed out that the pickle juice was green - isn't pickle juice green?  i've always thought so, but these pickles were in some murky green juice.  weird.  i didn't even ask him where he got them.  i got tired and went and picked up tucker at my dad and keri's house and brought him home.  it took me about five minutes to fall asleep.  aaaah, i love sleep.

anyways, i'm thinking i will have some pictures from the farm up sometime today.  i hope to share with all of you.  i know my mom will be waiting to see them.

for now, i'm going to get back to going right round baby, right round.

why am i still awake?

it is after midnight and matt and i are sitting here waiting for our little mini pizza to get done for our midnight snack.  geesh.  we were out at his parents house all day.  we had thanksgiving dinner (number three) this afternoon.  it was fun to hang out with everyone.  i'm not sure what happened but at about six, all the kids went fricken insane!  it was like they found nana's bucket of sugar and snorted it.  they were wired!  it was fun to watch them play though...little goofballs.  i'll have pictures to share, but not tonight.  it is too late to deal with photographs.

i am very much looking forward to not posting every single day.  i think i had just said that in a post.  this post will get be through tomorrow in case i don't post again.  hahaha.  i think it will still count.  those early morning readers will have something to read.

it is lightly snowing outside right now.  we woke up to a little dusting of snow this morning too.  i would like a nice blanket of white with nice clean roads.  that is my ideal winter.  okay, it would be nice if the blanket was really, really thick though.  :)  i got my little sister's mukluk's from my aunt who was using them for her little girl.  i'm pumped because they will probably fit tucker great next winter.  i really want some for myself!  little stinker might get them before me!  he also has a nice wintergreen jacket for a year or two down the road.  they are so nice!

black friday.  did anyone venture out?  i did this once and vowed never to make that mistake again.  if you had the guts (i said guts, not brains) to go out - did you find any super great finds?  please share so i can be jealous and wish i would have left my brain at home and went shopping.  :)

well, the pizza is done.  later!
