well, before it's old news, i have to tell you about our camping trip to nine mile lake. oh, and we go camping quite a bit, but this trip is the one i'll use to knock something else off the list. i've knocked a few others off that i haven't reported on yet. go figure. anyways, back to the camping.
i talked in brief about the trip here. everyone had a great time. the best thing about it, was that it was relaxing. we walked around the lake, fished, tubed (some of us), made smores (every. single. night.), did crosswords, played trouble, enjoyed the fire, ate good food, napped in the hammock, took pictures, told stories, listened to tina do her loon call (amazing - i should have video of this), caught crayfish, went on boat rides, played cribbage, and just enjoyed each other's company. i highly suggest going on a family camping trip to anyone. it can't be beat.
oh, and the pictures. well, i took over 700, but i'm going to quick share a few that i've actually proofed. they are my favorites (so far). i'm going to keep posting them here as i go.
on our walks we looked for mushrooms, flowers, critters...you name it. i found this mushroom that looked like a pretty butterfly. don't you think?
tucker had a blast fishing. if the boy could sleep by the water with a pole in his hand, he would have been the happiest kid in the world.
he also had a fun time just kicking back by the fire.
i had so much fun hanging with natalie too. her and tucker were like peas and carrots. they snuggled in the hammock together - tucker even fell asleep in it with her on friday night, it was too cute. she's a doll though - even with sunday morning bedhead. :)
tucker was pretty serious during his first two boat rides...
...but when grandpa let him take the wheel...
...there was no stopping him. he booted gramps right from the seat.
i really could go on and on with the pictures, but you'll just have to go check them out here if you want to see more. i can't wait for our next camping trip!
