this weekend, matt's immediate family and then some of their family from wisconsin (23 peeps in all) stayed at the edge. i would document the entire weekend in pictures, but i only took about 60 shots. i tried to enjoy the weekend instead of snapping away. it was nice. :)
on friday afternoon, we checked in, then headed out on a search. we were looking for swim trunks for my hubby. note to everyone: swim trunks are not sold in stores during this time of year. we ended up getting them at the gift shop at the hotel. go figure. we ate dinner at perkins (it was within walking distance of the hotel) then headed back to the edge to swim.
tucker had a blast in the pool area. he was slightly obsessed with this rope that you could pull and a stream of water would pour down. he spent about 80 percent of his time there looking something like this:
this next shot isn't perfect (the rock has a blurry face for one), but look, there's tucker and his rope again up in the corner! amazing that 48 out of my 60 shots are of him holding onto that rope.
i think tucker will be a lifeguard when he gets older. he is already pointing out the rules of the pool to others. that's my boy.
on saturday we got up, ate breakfast, went shopping (the crowds were not as bad as i thought they would be) then went back to the edge to take naps. i think i fell asleep and tucker watched cartoons. lovely. then we headed out for our 'thanksgiving dinner' at the old country buffet. i hadn't eaten there since i was little so i was less than pumped about it. i hate buffets! however, i was surprised and it wasn't too bad.
after dinner, matt and i brought tucker to watch madagascar: escape to africa. well, i didn't know matt had wanted to go to the movie right after dinner, so i hadn't brought a diaper or anything with for tucker. the movie started off great. tucker loved it. then, he started getting antsy. then, he sharted. yeah. not a full on crap, but bad enough. so, we ended up only watching an hour of the movie, then heading to my mom's for a quick change. thank god she had a diaper so he didn't have to sit in it on the way back down to the hotel. at least his first experience watching a movie in the theater was memorable.
when we got back to the hotel, we hit up the pool again. everyone had a blast. after swimming, we hit up nana and papa's room. there we got to eat popcorn (nana brought her popper!) and hang out with everyone. before long, it was time for bed. the perfect end to a great day - sleep!
i've been doing laundry since i got home today. i know how jealous you all are. :)
