today, our best friends get married.
derek + jenn, we love you.
hoping your day is everything you ever imagined.
let the good times roll. :)
i seriously feel like i need a little blog rehab. where do i even start? i guess i'm just going to start typing and see what happens. hang on people, this post could go all over the place.
this coming saturday, matt, tucker and i are in our best friends wedding. derek + jenn are tying the knot! i'm not the maid of honor, but i did write a little something to say at the reception. i'm not nervous, but i'm not going to lie, there's a chance i might bump a few swigs off the bottle before i talk. :) i'm pretty sure jenn won't be reading my blog this week (as she's probably going to be running around like a crazy person) but i was also busy getting their gift finished. more on that after they have opened it. so, i've been making sure we have everything ready for the weekend. i'm SO freaking excited.
next saturday, my brother also graduates. i still can't believe he's old enough! i'm so proud of him and am looking forward to celebrating with him (his grad party is on my birthday - sounds like a good excuse to party).
i am watching the bachelorette this season. i love the bachelorette so much better than the bachelor for obvious reasons (much more eye candy). i intend to blog about my favorite dudes, but i've got a problem. i forgot it was on last night and my darling husband SHUT OFF the dvr and didn't bother telling me it was on. i mean REALLY. doesn't he know my show TRUMPS anything he wants to watch? i guess not. so, i go online to watch the show and their freaking viewer DOES NOT WORK. lovely.
i've been working on my photography website in all my spare time. which, these days consists of about three minutes each week. i thought i would be ready by the end of this month, but i'm aiming for launching it by my birthday instead. wish me luck.
we just upgraded our netflix account. just thought i would throw that out there. matt says i can't pick out good movies and doesn't want to wait around to watch what i like, so we're up to getting two movies at a time. that way, mine can sit on the table for a month while he sends his back and forth and he won't complain. yey.
tucker totally deserves his own post this week. stay tuned.
we had a good memorial day weekend. saturday was basically a wash (matt went to finland, tucker and i hung around the house). i laid out on the porch in my new reclining lawn chair on sunday. i thought that was a good way to kick off summer. tucker played trucks, we ran around the yard and played on the swingset. each night we had a fire and made smores. only thing better would have been if we would have got a little fishing in. oh well. life was pretty relaxing for us during our long weekend. might be the last relaxing weekend we have for a while. :)
i'll stop rambling at this point. there is so much to blog, but so little time.
i wanted to share a few more shots from the big wheels event we went to last night.
tucker loved sitting in 'big green' with uncle dustin. he had the chance to sit in a couple fire trucks, but this one is obviously the best. i think tucker would agree.
tucker also got to ride in all the equipment uncle corey drives at work. :)
he loved the zamboni. he's watched it in action at the ruk, but has never got to actually sit on it. he went back to it a few times. the zamboni is one of my favorites too.
just look at his smile - i think he's showing his mariner pride! :)
matt also took him up into derek's excavator. don't worry - he was careful! tucker was on cloud nine (and nearly as high).
the only things tucker didn't want to go in were the ambulance and the squad car. i'm taking that as a good sign. :)
last night, we took tucker down to the 'big wheels' event in town. i don't have time for an entire post about it right now (off to work in a few minutes), but i will share one of my favorite shots from last night.
tucker and uncle dustin in the 'little' red fire truck.
seriously, the wkhs parking lot was heaven on earth to many little boys last night. mine included.
a couple weeks ago, i created and ordered my first picture book. finally, i knocked something else off the list! i ordered it through snapfish. i know there are a million places to do this, but i had a coupon there so it seemed like fate. or something. i was so anxious for it to arrive. when it did, it was a glorious day.
life on nelson drive. it just seemed fitting with all the random shots i threw into it.
matt agreed to help me model a few layouts from the book.
like i said, there was a lot of random in this book. oh, and i ordered the 8x8 hardcover book. when i look at that first picture of matt holding it, the book seems really tiny, doesn't it? :)
i just totally love it. i suggest you go make one too. :)
last week, after some chatting with our neighbors, we became the new owners of a swingset. our neighbors (who are awesome) had bought this about 15 years ago when they first had grandchildren. now, those grandkids have all grown up and in the process have outgrown the swingset. so, they gave it to us. they told us that just getting it out of their yard was payment enough (did i mention they are awesome?).
on monday, a few guys moved it up the hill into our backyard. this picture was taken at an angle. don't worry, it's not on a hill or anything. :)
tucker loves it.
i'm still debating if i want to paint the metal or not. i like the classic look, but it might be fun to paint it up a bit. it's in fantastic condition. gosh, did i tell you how much i love our neighbors? they rock and i'm so grateful to them for this. i mean, it even has a helicopter swing! :)
this evening, as i was folding laundry, i started to think about all the things i haven't told you guys. things like, how i won a free night's stay at grand portage lodge and casino at our annual bowling banquet. things like, how awesome my friend jenn's bachelorette party was. things like, how much tucker likes pointing his finger and me and telling me to go to the naughty spot.
i have forgotten to share so many things lately. i'm so far behind.
in other news:
kind of random tonight, but that's all i've got. :)
earlier this week, i had a little photo shoot with angie and mike (and their dog timber got in a few too). they are expecting a little girl in early june. angie is such a pretty mommy-to-be! i just LOVE her shots so i had to share a few here. oh, and if you are paying attention, you'll see 'part' of my new logo that the ever so talented jessica helped me with. i just LOVE that too.
angie has made the cutest nursery for her little peanut.
mommy loves crosswords, so i thought this was fitting.
the belly shot.
i love this black and white.
then mike stepped in for a few.
i loved shooting outside.
and finally, one of my favorites (so far).
there were so many shots from their session that i loved! :)
i can't wait to meet little berkeley!
