when i made my resolution at the beginning of the year to lose weight, i had no idea where the path would lead. i knew i was determined, but i knew it would be hard. like, SUPER HARD. like, so hard i would want to eat like a case of reese peanut butter cups. YEAH.
i never imagined that i would be to a point where the difference between my before shot and after/during shot would make my mouth kind of hang wide open. that's where i am now. it's a proud moment because of where i am now, but i still have mixed emotions. at the same time i'm super pumped ... i am also so embarrassed to look at where i was then ... when i started this journey. i mean, who am i kidding? people SEEN me everyday. they obviously weren't looking at some imagined version of myself. they were looking at me at the heaviest i have ever been in my life. they were looking at my past. i never want to go back there. ever.
sharing this with all of you is going to help me do that. as long as i'm sharing, then i'm holding myself accountable. because if nobody knows i'm trying, nobody knows if i'm failing. seems like a good plan for success right? i think so.
i'll admit. the past ten weeks have been hard. with holidays, birthdays, SMORES camping, and all the craziness that summer brings, i've been holding the same weight. i've went up and down the same 3 pounds for nearly two months. it's time to start sharing and holding myself accountable. i have more work to do.
so, the healthy train i was on is done. i was so happy to be a part of it ... as it was one of the spokes in this weight loss wheel at the beginning that kept me going. it kept me excited. bobbi (part of my favorite photography duo EVER) was such a motivation and inspiration. she's been on her own healthy train since 2008. she has invited people to share in her journey ... and i was finally able to hop on during her last round of the healthy train.
i can't believe i'm about to share this.
at the beginning of the year, i took 'before' pictures. just today, i took my 'after/current' pictures. i did this for my own personal reasons, but also because i had to for the healthy train. today, my pictures (along with current percentage of weight lost) went up on bobbi + mike's blog.
i figured the LEAST i could do is finally share the same pictures with you.
i have lost 31.9 pounds total (at my monday weigh in). at the end of the contest, i had lost a total of 14.2 percent of my body weight. if you want to see a larger version of these sweet shots, click on them or click on the link on bobbi + mike's blog. bobbi was the one that put these series of shots together.
Thanks for sharing! Helps to light my fire!! Wish you'd blog about what you did to change your habits...maybe you have and I haven't gotten there yet...

Jenny - I am so, so proud of you! What you have done is beyond awesome and you look amazing! What I love, however, is the look of confidence and pride on your face at having taken charge of your health and having stuck to your goals and achieved them!

I think you are absolutely amazing. This is such a huge accomplishment. You should be so proud of yourself.
I wish that I would have taken a before picture because I can't even imagine what I looked like before. All I know is my old clothes fall off of me. Keep up the good work girl. You look wonderful.
