matt and i celebrated our EIGHT year anniversary today. how did we celebrate? we did go out to dinner ... but that was about it. tucker went to spend the night at my mom's house tonight. it was his chance for some solo time with grandma. levi stayed with us, but when we got home he tried to test our patience for the rest of the night. i really should have been smarter and had my mom take BOTH of the boys.
i guess you celebrate the eighth wedding anniversary with bronze (or if you are living in MODERN times, linen). we didn't celebrate with either. we are finally residing our garage and putting in new doors as well. the pricetag on doing that is present enough for me. we are so lame. does anyone else give themselves those 'types' of gifts? haha!
i have been with matt since i was fifteen years old. HALF MY LIFE. it is kind of crazy, but it's a crazy i'm proud of. we've made it work. it's not always rainbows and butterflies, but it is our life. and i wouldn't trade it for all the reese peanut butter cups in the world. trust me, right now, that's saying A LOT.
i love my cookie as much now as i did when we were just ... kids. :)
Our 8th was this year too! We bought a paper print for year 1 (the paper anniversary)...and vowed to buy something for our family by that theme every year. Yup, didn't make it past year 1.

Happy Anniversary! It's not all that common anymore when high school sweethearts marry but when it does, it's extra sweet. Brian and I started dating when I was 17 so I know how ya feel. Congrats for making it all this long, through marriage, kids and oh so much more.

Congrats on your anniversary! Cheers to many, many more. Yes, we are the same way. We buy stuff we need for the house. At Christmastime, we will stuff stockings though and Jade usually does a really good job with good gifts. lol. :)

i love your cookie too (matt), and not to forget the 2 little cookies that you two have baked in the last 8 years. you have made my life a much happier place because of all the cookies in it, i love you jenny, i love you matt and i love my little tucker bug and levi, I wish you many more years of happiness, remember, it isn't all about the gifts you receive in life, it's what you do in your life to make it a gift!! Happy Anniversary!!

Happy Anniversary!!! We are the same when it comes to gifts...we buy stuff we need for the house. Maybe for our 10th we'll buy something fun or just go on vacation with no kids! :)

oh we totally buy boring things we need for anniversaries. we did buy a chair for our second anniversary and i rationalized it because it was "cotton". :)
i try to be a little bit more sentimental and buy something little/anniversary traditional to throw in there too, but we're really bad, especially at christmas, about not getting each other "gifts" and just getting something big that we need. no santa surprises for us! :/
