have you ever had one of those days where it seemed absolutely NOTHING could go wrong? today, i had one of THOSE days. wondering why? well, let me enlighten you.
the day started out normal ... except after dropping off the kids at school and daycare, i didn't have to work. that will start any day off on the right foot. i had a doctor's appointment in duluth, so i had the day off. before leaving town, i ran a few errands. taking care of business always makes me happy.
on the way down to duluth, flo rida's new single, GOOD FEELING came on. go listen to this on you tube right now. you will feel good for the rest of the day. NO JOKE. pretty sure this song was the theme of my day.
i had not planned at stopping at my mom's in two harbors on the way down, but since she didn't answer her phone and then i got a busy, i immediately thought there must be someone holding them hostage and stealing their valuables (don't ask, i have a worst-case-scenerio-brain). so, i figured i would stop at their house and if all was well, i'd get to visit quick. well, all WAS fine and besides being able to visit quick, my mom unloaded the left over rummage sale goodies from my car to take to duluth for me. so, i left there with an empty car. oh, she also gave me felt to use on tucker and levi's halloween costumes. SCORE.
i make it all the way to duluth without being pulled over by the cops. ALWAYS A GOOD FEELING. what's better though is that i actually followed all traffic laws so there was no reason for that in the first place. gosh, i'm growing up.
i go to walmart first. i can't tell you the last time i was at walmart in hermantown. really, i can't. i was pumped that it had now morphed into a SUPER walmart. and while walking around in the store, i didn't feel dirty and i LIKED shopping there. weird. i seen one person i wasn't too pumped about seeing ... and it didn't even phase me. because then, i saw a friend i had just been thinking about and it was nice to catch up with her quick. when it was time to checkout, the tally only came to $140. MIRACLE. usually it's much higher seeing as how i never shop. or usually buy things i don't need.
next stop, kohls to return a couple things i ordered online. feeling totally proud of myself for FINALLY returning something instead of just forgetting about it. $40 back on my card. YES.
then, it's time to treat myself. MAURICES. my favorite place to shop. i had $100 gift card from my birthday (in june) to blow. i grabbed an armload of things and head to the dressing room. the pants fit weird and look nasty. then i think ... could it be? do i need ... A SMALLER SIZE? you got it people ... i am officially in a smaller size at my favorite store! PURE JOY. also, found a couple cute shirts and a pair of shoes to boot. after the gift card, i only have to pay $27. the good feeling was STILL ROLLIN'.
i then stopped for a nice, relaxing, i-don't-have-to-cut-up-childrens-food-and-eat-last lunch at subway. i sat down and ate in peace and quiet. and it was so delicious.
since i had a bit of time to kill before heading to my doctor's appointment, i head to target. yeah, heaven on earth, i know. so, i grab a cart and go looking ... even though all i needed was cotton balls and fingernail polish remover for my little sister. i end up seeing some friends and meeting their new TINY bundle of joy. then, i grab a couple things and go to check out. i had a gift card for $25 and it COVERED MY PURCHASES. yes, i went into target and was able to leave spending less than $25. miracles do happen.
i leave and head down to my appointment early. i check in 20 minutes early, get called into my appointment on time and then i wait. and wait. and wait. about 43 minutes later, my doctor comes in. let me back up a tad. i'm at the dermatologist. for a skin cancer screening. i made the appointment during the summer when i watched the video that was all over the internet about skin cancer. it freaked me out a bit. anyways, she comes in and basically rocked my world. she solved all my problems in like five minutes. well, sort of. this woman could look at my hands and know i have seasonal allergies. who knew? anyways, i have keratosis pilaris. i figured this out after the pediatrician had told me that is what levi had. however, i also have another dry skin condition and i can't remember what she called it. but she told me how to treat it without a prescription right now. however, she told me bath + body was out. NOOOOOOO! then, she went on to check my skin for weird moles and such. well, i have like TWO moles. one looked fine and the other one looked 'weird'. so, she scraped them both off. now, i have NO moles. i'll keep you posted on that business. but, i walked out of there happy as hell. weird.
after leaving there, i hit up walgreens for the lotion and shampoo i need. the lotion was $25. i wish i was joking. the shampoo wasn't cheap either. each bottte has a sticker on it to go check out at the cosmetics counter. so i do. the cashier pulls out a $5.50 coupon for the lotion and a $2.00 coupon for the shampoo. I COULD HAVE KISSED HER. but since we were in the BUSIEST WALGREENS IN AMERICA (thanks for that information kim), i thought the germ and creepoid factor were high. saying thank you was good enough.
then, i headed home. and listened to music LOUD the entire way.
OOOH OH OH OH SOMETIMES, I GET A GOOD FEELING ... YEAH.
