since friday night, i've been a fricken domestic maniac. and it feels oh. so. good.
i'm pretty sure i have outlined much of what i accomplished this weekend in previous posts, but i'm not sure you readers understand the scope of this. i have been burning through the 'to do yesterday' lists like a crazy person. i have been high off the aroma of scrubbing bubbles and pledge. i have actually had a couple nights of really deep sleep (complete with some very interesting dreams). i have not only filled the garbage cans but also the recycle bins this week. whoop! whoop! i am on a roll here people!
today, i managed to finish most of our christmas shopping. i only have matt/parents/grandparents left, as well as all the little kiddos (including tucker). i am getting all the little kiddos (with the exception of tucker) the same thing (and i hope this is not a spoiler, but i'm about to release the details) - savings bonds. they are all going to get plenty of toys and such, but not from us. i believe in giving what you would like to receive. that's how i look at it anyhow. i don't care if i'm the boring auntie when i get this kind of thing, someday they will be thanking me - all the way to the bank. that's when the newest doll or truck won't matter much to them anymore. so, to add to my great feeling, i'm almost done with my christmas shopping. and here's the kicker, i haven't even stepped foot inside a store. you know what that means don't you? yeah, it means i shopped online, but it also means that i probably ended up saving money. i only bought what i wanted and spent the amount i wanted to. i didn't find any other 'cute' things that i 'had' to get for that someone special on my list. because after all - they are all special. even you derek. :)
oh, by the way, my husband called me at work today to tell me something really super duper important. he told me that he had just seen the BIGGEST BUCK OF HIS LIFE. well, he said he seen the rack, but couldn't get a good shot on the body. atleast that's what i got from the conversation. so now, he is going to sit there and wait for this sucker to show again. he also informed me that he needed to stay at the shack thursday and friday night in order to 'get the job done'. thank god this is the last week/weekend of hunting season. unless he finds a black powder gun. frickenfrack i want my hubby back.
post no. 13 complete. :)
