here they are. answers to all of your earth shatterin', dirt diggin', mind bogglin' questions.
from kim: when can we expect another kid?
well, i've thought about this a lot. i will not be giving birth in 2008, however, i've always liked odd numbers so maybe our next child will make his/her debut in 2009. matt has 49% say in this, i have 51% since i'm the one lugging the babe around for nine months.
from mary: what does the 'stickyfeathers' in your blog name mean?
i posted about it here. i have thought about changing the name, but haven't come up with anything better yet, so it's staying as is for now.
from leah: which is your favorite picture that you've taken in 2007?
i have SO many favorite pictures all for different reasons. let's go with these four:
from kenneth: do you still love me? did you ever? does my shift key work?
no, i never loved you because to be honest, you kind of creep me out. um, i think i covered your question about the shift key in this post.
from kasey: if you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go visit?
seeing i don't travel much, i have a long list of places i want to visit. they include: hawaii, alaska, us virgin islands, austraila, new zeland, belize, as well as traveling on both the east and west coasts.
from my mom: what is your most memorable moment of your papa owen?
whisker rubs everytime we said goodbye when we were little. i loved that. i miss him.
from melinda: what actress/actor do you admire the most? how old were you when you had your first french kiss?
hmmm. i'm not sure if there is an actress/actor that i admire. i mean, unless you think that admire means thinking they are hot. in that case, i'd have to say i really like jake. oooh yeah baby. oh, and my first french kiss - geesh. i'd have to say i was in ninth grade i think. thank god you didn't ask who it was with!
from amy: what's the craziest thing you've ever done?
well, the craziest thing i had ever planned to do was jump out of a perfectly good airplane in the fall of 2005. then i found out i was pregnant and that ended those plans quick. so, i'd have to say it had to have been the time that matt, me, my brother, and derek were driving around town on a winter night a few years ago (before i had a kid so i could act stupid). we were in derek's s10 pickup, yes, all four of us were in the front of his pickup. that's a tight fit. anyways, i'd always begged derek to get a good run and jump the cul-de-sac on one of the streets in town. well, that night, for whatever reason, derek listened to me. we got about a block run going at about 45 mph and we nailed that cul-de-sac. we all braced ourselves, i pushed myself into matt (as i was on his lap). i remember looking out the window as we were in the air and all i could see was the beautiful night sky. we were airbornne and it was awesome! we landed with a thud and all of the salt and ice buildup that was on the s10 flew off upon impact with the ground. we were all dying laughing when we landed and looked over and saw a guy we knew looking out his window watching this spectacle. we rolled back to the point we had started and all bailed out of the vehicle. i flopped myself in a snowbank and laughed so hard i cried. maybe it wasn't the craziest thing ever, but it was so much fun. we used to do a lot of this and i'm sure we could have got in some trouble for it. maybe that was the rush of it.
from angie: if your life had taken a completely different turn - no marriage, no kids, what would you have wanted to do? or be?
deep thinking here folks. i wouldn't give up the way my life is for the world. one thing i find intriguing that i would never explore now would be a traveling photojournalist. i mean going all over the world, not just for the local paper. that sounds interesting but now, having a family that is my number one priority. having a career that would take me out of the home so much is something i am just not interested in whatsoever, but if things were different...
from jaime: how do you enhance your eyes in photoshop?
i wish i could take the credit for this, but i learned it from the pioneer woman. since i'm a retard when it comes to photoshop, i followed her step-by-step instructions here. sorry it took so long for me to get this to you! good luck!
from denise: how did you meet your husband?
i met my husband when we were in junior high. he lived in the country so i didn't really know him before all of my girlfriends are i started getting boy crazy. a few of my friends were 'boyfriend/girlfriend' with him in junior high. things changed when i was a sophomore in high school. at a football scrimmage in cook (how fitting), he was checking me out. to this day he still remembers what i was wearing. dork. a while after that, we started talking on the phone, hanging out 24/7, and were just always together. that's lasted all these years...11 to be exact. we are high school sweethearts. :)
from melissa: if you could punch one person, that you know personally, in the face - would whould it be?
i would punch monica right in the kisser. not once, but twice. :)
from christina: where was i born? where do you like to go camping? what were the worst and best of your 8 jobs? what college did you attend and why did you hate it? nikon or canon? what is your favorite lens?
i was born in minnesota. one of my favorite places to go camp is the bemidji state park campground. they have such a nice layout there. the worst job i ever had was at the local gas station. it just sucked. the best job i ever had was working for the city as the ice rink attendant for open skating. it was such a cake job. take money for their ticket, let 'em skate, listen to music, talk to people, skate, and be the referee between all the little gremlins on the ice. it was like eight hours a week - too bad i couldn't have made a living doing that. i attended a private school that was kind of a joke. we went through administration like they were dirty socks and the building and resources were crap. i don't really want to say what school it was. i feel bad saying i hated it because i do value the education i received (and i had small class sizes) but everything else sucked. oh, and last but not least, i used to be a nikon lover, then i got my canon...love it! i only have two lenses so my favorite would have to be my 50mm.
from zoe: boxers or briefs?
boxer briefs. :)
from jess: what did you get me for christmas? what will your next child be named (boy or girl)?
you will have to wait to see what you got for christmas. i'm not telling. as far as what my next child will be named: girl/makayla lee & boy/no clue. it was so hard to agree on tucker's name. i had a long list that i loved, but matt wasn't sold on any of them. mainly because his head was clouded with visions of a 'junior'. that was not happening.
from regina: who is/are your favorite photographer(s)?
there are so many people that i have found online that i admire. i really think i have too many to list, but a few of them are listed in my sidebar 'photography'. check out their work, they rock!
from jane: when you were pregnant, did you have a girls name picked out and if so, what was it?
matt and i had actually picked out the very same name - without even discussing it! we had a baby book at home that someone had left in our vehicle (no idea who to this day). i had brought it in and had looked at it (knowing we would be getting pregnant soon). i loved the name makayla. months later when we knew we were expecting, matt was looking at the book. i came home and he said he had found a girls name he liked. we flipped through and there it was, makayla. he even liked the spelling that i did. so, we knew we had a keeper. i've always wanted to name my little girl after me and my dad (our middle names are lee) so there we had it: makayla lee.
i doubt any other grand kid had wisker rubs like you kids did. yes jenny, i miss him too. soooo very much.
