it's been a while since i've just talked about my little dude.
i actually took some pictures of him this month. seems like i've been slacking (or maybe just letting him see what my face looks like without a camera stuck to it).
last night, he wanted me to sing a song about the sun. i had the lyric 'oh when the sun beats down' in my head for some reason and i actually googled it only to find {cringe} that it was the bette midler song, 'under the boardwalk'. yeaaah. so, i sang that to him last night and put him to sleep. don't ask me where i had that lyric in my head anyways...but he liked it.
this kid seriously had a blast camping and fishing. he is scared to do anything until he does it once though. like riding in the boat - he was mr. serious the first two rides, then on the third ride, he was all over in the boat. a couple weeks ago, my parents took him in their hot tub and he was literally running and hiding in their house so he wouldn't have to get in the hot tub. well, they caught him, put him in there, and he LOVED it. he is so weird.
songs he can sing: twinkle, twinkle, little star. you are my sunshine. i love you (barney song - but he does not watch barney - i'd rather jump off a cliff than listen to that show). it's raining, it's pouring. we made that nursery rhyme into a song. i'm sure you all have. and last but not least, the abc's. i love listening to this kid sing. he even holds a note. haha! i'll try to get video of this stuff. every time i whip the camera out though, he goes into hiding. :)
he's turning more and more into a little boy every day. he's got this farmer tan from being outside all the time - he would sleep out there if i would let him. he loves to lay on the floor playing trucks, making all those important truck sounds...this is one of my favorite things to watch him do. oh, and he loves to go around the house shouting 'mommaaa! mommaaa!' - even when he finds me, he will still keep yelling because he finds it amusing. or something.
oh, he loves school buses at the moment. one day, he was in the living room and i could hear him saying 'i'm too big! i'm too big!'. i went to see what he was up to, and he was attempting to get into his leap frog school bus (which is about nine inches long and four inches high). i assured him that yes, he was too big. poor kid.
quick facts: he loves just about any food, but he's got a real sweet tooth (good thing he likes to brush his teeth). he hasn't had a hair cut in a couple months and it is getting shaggy. he likes to watch me cut his fingernails. he loves dirt piles, trucks, his trike, playing tee ball (next summer he will probably start in the actual league - crazy!), and playing in the bathtub with anything that can squirt water at his mom.
aaaah...i love this kid.
thanks for the updates. great pic. have a great friday!

SOOO cute!!! I love the picture!!! He's growing up so fast. I still remember vividly where I was and who was with me when the sheriff (the one I want to come back) called me and told me the news...and then asked me to come to work the next day;)
